Marlissa flint-exercise nine

Narrative #1

They say that youll make healthier choices if you shop on the perimeter of the grocery store. today, ill just pretend that i never heard them. i guess this is what you get when you are the only ninteen year old that lives for grocery stores. whose idea of fun is to roast tomatoes with fresh olive oil, salt and garlic. its better than putting up the decorations for the dumb party. okay so here is goes. white bread only has 20% nutrition from the grain. urgh. im trying to see 6 grams of fibre, but the label is only reading 1. what the heck is meat salad??? "okay ill take 2 of those". at least theyre cheap. chicken curry spread? okay..whats in it? egg, curry powder, tumeric, cumin, salt, garlic powder, vegetable oil. i can make this. ham? maybe if i get lean roast beef instead they wont notice. shallots. im excited. oooh!! i can get the pretty pearl shallots. im going to brown them in brandy and brown sugar. delicious!! next..refined sugar?? no way. im reaching for the brown sugar. orange juice. okay..calcium enriched. freshly squeezed. extra pulp= extra fibre. wow two more types of onions?? they better not be asking me to make onion rings. grenadine?? strawberry syrup?? what is with teenagers and alcahol? dont they know that a little h2o would do them some good?? a pineapple. ill use it to make a plant and to eat fresh, but i know its going to end up on some pretty little glass. wow. german liverwurst and cooked meatloaf? "excuse me is there anywhere i can find the ingredients of this meatloaf"? thats wishful thinking. ill leave the best for last. margarine, margaine, cigarettes, orange drink fizzy?? i think they are only referring to the colour. thank goodness there are multivitamins on this list.
